Under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) legislation that applies to the majority of UK manufacturing organisations.
Regulation 7 of the legislation requires that exposure of employees to substances hazardous to health be prevented or if this is not practicable, they should be adequately controlled.
It is also a requirement of Regulation 9 of COSHH that any control measure taken to comply with Regulation 7 must be maintained in an efficient state, which is in correct working order and is good repair.
To comply with these regulations your LEV system must also be tested by qualified personnel at least every 14 months. |
As specialists in Dust and Fume control systems we recommend that your LEV systems are subjected to a three stage appraisal.
• Spectrum offers an initial appraisal of your LEV system to assess its current status.
• A regular maintenance program can be arranged including frequent visual inspections by your own staff or by our own qualified personnel.
• An annual thorough on site inspection and test including Air Flows, Filter pressure drop and extraction efficiency tests etc in compliance with the COSHH Regulations. If required, in addition to the tests for COSHH, we can also provide on site testing and performance certification for any LEV equipment.
By employing Spectrum as your qualified inspection partner you have piece of mind that your extraction systems not only abide by all legal obligations but are being maintained in optimum condition as well.
